The River Rom is the soul of Romford town centre. It has slowly fallen into decline. Our consultation shows that local people would like it to be transformed into a landscaped area they can enjoy. Our development will revitalise the Rom Valley Way side of the River Rom, with the creation of a 500m riverside walkway and parkland.

This will link with a series of small parks throughout the development. There will be a pedestrian and cycle pathway along the river, which will be for the benefit of all local residents.

The development also seeks to improve the local environment, through a series of green initiatives. As a low carbon project, it will encourage the use of public transport with new pedestrian and cycle routes to the station and wider town centre. Car ownership will be discouraged.

There will be solar panels on the roofs of buildings, which will feed into a site wide energy centre. Air sourced heat pumps will be used to provide environmentally friendly energy, and will contribute significantly to our low carbon proposal.
